U.S. Cities Move to Curb Lead Poisoning following Reuters Report

As reported by Reuters on January 19, 2017, in towns and cities throughout the United States, “local leaders, health officials and researchers are advancing measures to protect children from the toxic threat. They include more blood-lead screening, property inspections, hazard abatement and community outreach programs.” (See Live Lead Safe Reuters Report for more information)

Parents are encouraged to check with local elected officials and health and housing officials to see what is being done in their community to prevent childhood lead poisoning. The more that local officials hear from parents, the greater the chance that preventive measures will take place.
